Angel / Ангел Poem by Dave Bennett

Angel /

Translation:

ANGEL

An Angel at midnight was sailing the sky
And singing a soft lullaby;
The moon and the stars and the clouds in a throng
Attended his heavenly song.

He sang of the blessings of unblemished souls,
Who roam heaven's gardens and knolls;
He sang of the God who so mightily reigned
And all of his praise was unfeigned.

He carried embraced in his arms a young soul
To earth with its suffering toll;
And in the young soul his song's echoes would thrive—
Without any words, but alive.

The soul tarried long in a world full of strife,
Filled up with great hope for this life;
And not even once could the dull songs of earth
Replace heaven's sounds from its birth.

И тихую песню он пел;

Под кущами райских садов;

Для мира печали и слез;

Желанием чудным полна;
