There is something there
That just won't leave this heart
It haunts me in my dreaming hours
Waking me with a start
And when I am in waking
It follows me through the days
Silently reminding me of him
With me forever and always
The name scarred to my heart
Those letters across my chest
A very constant reminder
Of the love that gave the best
The very love that ended
In the most tragic of ways
A love that should have lasted a life time
But ended anyway
The only thing that was ever real
The only love that was ever pure
It was the only time I felt safe
My only way to remain secure
Locked in this heart that I hold
Kept inside my mind ever fresh
The memory of the words from my own mouth
That almost lead an angel to his death
I remember the eyes that were so blue
And the scent of the love I held
The love that grew ever stronger
The night that angel fell
I admit that I was at fault
His halo still remains in these hands
For all of time I will love him
Until this heart no longer can
And with this poem I declare the love
That has not yet and never will die
For it lives on forever
