Angel Unaware Poem by Donna McCord

Angel Unaware

Rating: 5.0

So small, so fragile, but perfect tiny hands and toes.
He never took a single breath, and why is that? God knows.
A little boy so innocent will never walk in Daddy’s shoes.
The why of it we do not know, nor something we would choose.

So did he ever know that his mom and dad did love him?
Oh yes, I truly think he did, he talked to God about them.
It just was not his time to live; but in this he’s not alone.
For every day God steps in and calls another Angel home.

A mother cries and hurts inside but the pain is in her heart.
She knows she’ll never hold her son and it tears her world apart.
Do not despair, you can find peace in knowing he’s up there.
The little boy you’ll never hold is an Angel Unaware.
