Anger Poem by Jeff Hobbs

Anger

Rating: 5.0

I wish I could get angry
The way other people get angry
I see them lash out, yell, scream, abuse
I see their frustrations, hurts and disappointments
Grow into a visible, tangible demonstration
I wish I could get angry
Instead of having this beast inside me
Seethe and devour within
It shows itself in tears, anxiety, worry
While all it should be doing is yelling
I wish I could get angry
Their lives carry on without worry
They are forgiven and still can smile
While my beast grows and consumes
And soon I am anger.

I used to be like that, I could never get mad cause it made me feel bad for reacting that way. But now I've learned that you gotta get mad or else people use you as a door mat or you just go insane! Great write. Meghan

I know exactually how you feel, all my life I've never had a grand way of showing people that they've made me angry because I've always felt that that would make them feel that they've beat me. That they've won, but now I regret it because it's caused stress and the stress has caused multiple problems that I may have to fight for the rest of my life if I don't learn how to deal with it. I'm so used to holding it, and holding it and storing it to the back of my mind so that I forget it's there and why, but then I can still feel it's strain. So that when I do get upset it becomes very hard to control my anger because I won't remember why I'm mad. So I just try to stay positive, but then I'm not truely exspressing how I feel. So I understand what you mean, I try to deal with it in different ways everytime, some are smater than others though haha. But we don't need a lot of angry people in the world who careless who see's them lash out. Sometimes we need people like us, we're just more understanding and it takes us a while for the anger to sink in. But all in all Great poem I could really relate to it. :) S.B *(^.~) *
