Anguish Of A Lover Iv Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

Anguish Of A Lover Iv

It was not like this
When we started
This is not what
You promise me
You promise not to hurt me,
But to love and cherish me.
And you always call me
Sweetheart,
Yes, I am your sweetheart
But, my heart aches
I can’t remember the
Last time you call me
Your sweetheart.
Cause it’s no longer sweet
But bitter heart.
Am I now your problem?
Your tormentor,
Amounting to nothing
Before you.
What have I done?
That you cannot forgive me
Remember, what I suffered
Because of you.
Sweetheart, where are you
Why have you abandoned me?
I am dying,
From ache and pain
So much pain in my heart
My sleep is gone
My joy is gone
My appetite is gone
My life is bitter,
Without you love
The sweetness is gone
I have become
A laughing stock,
An a shadow of myself
