Anniversary Poem by Mark Parry

Anniversary

If I cry a thousand tears
I would not bring you back;
And if my heart these past ten years
Had built a golden stack
What good had been these treasures shared
In love between us be?
Unspoken yes but always aired:
A love we only see.
And so my dear I journey on
A mortal world I tread;
Yet for me the glory comes
When death contains no dread
Our friendship will continue then
A friendship without end.
