Another Beautiful Day Poem by Marquita Lawson

Another Beautiful Day

Well, I tossed and turned the whole night through;
finally fell asleep around four
‘Bout an hour heard a pretty tune
from the radio by the door
Stayed in bed and listened to an old love song
brought back memories
When it was over, I rolled out of bed
and got down on my knees and I said:

Thank You, Lord, for another day,
thank You for my sleep
I know it wasn't much but I read that You
give me all I need.
I don't want to do any whining or complaining
like I did yesterday,
So thank You, Lord, for loving me
with another beautiful day!

I arose with my feet on the floor,
stretched my arms over my head
Swayed back and forth for a moment or two
then finally made my bed.
A nice warm shower loosened my joints
my muscle aches were gone,
After I dressed, I headed downstairs
singing a little song I sang:

Thank You, Lord, for supplying me
with a wake up therapy.
All I could ask for is at my disposal,
Lord, You sure bless me!
Well, I don't want to do any whining or complaining
like I did yesterday,
So thank You, Lord, for loving me
with another beautiful day!

Thank You Lord for another day,
thank You for my sleep
I know it wasn't much but I read that You
give me all I need.
I don't want to do any whining or complaining
like I did yesterday,
So thank You, Lord, for loving me
with another beautiful day!
So thank You, Lord, for loving me
with another beautiful day!
