Another Birthday Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Another Birthday

The sun rose and set on a day of special notation
Yesterday was my birthday…today is for reflection
As years pass by the birthday candles and cake
remind me to give thanks for a chance to partake

Atop a tall mountain of uniquely personal memories
certain flickering moments stand out like red poppies
Next to a flowing stream… among an array of fragrance
A landscape of time gives witness to my attendance

A panoramic view materializes of changing seasons
Yesterdays are what I have to verify days of reason
Floating by like cloud formations in an endless sky
Reoccurring like the intermittent blinking of a firefly
