Another Brief Chat In Pogo Poem by Joyce Chelmo

Another Brief Chat In Pogo

Rating: 3.5

One night while playing
a game in pogo
in a moment of weakness
I actually chatted
with some people there.

Rocky who has the worst
case of ADD I’ve ever seen
keeps promising me he’ll
send me one of his drawings.

He always gets distracted
and forgets.

Rocky was in the room when
I entered last night,
and he addressed me.
Before I answered
I contemplated staying silent.

Because of Rocky everyone
was greeting me,
so I reluctantly said hello.

As I entered the room
I told Rocky if he promises
to email me again I’m going
to pinch him.

A guy I don’t know
asks me “do you swallow? ”

I said, “no, I bite.”
he never said another word,
but the girls were laughing.
