Another Day Poem by Kristopher Scott

Another Day

Rating: 1.5

Hard times continue to get worst
stresses from living, mulitple nerves burst
blood leaks, as his fragile body lays
fractured bones, intense physical plain, mentally dazed
wondering about the life soon to be left behind
negative surroundings and decisions, you see they all combine
to keep you trapped at level 1
to accel in life, he purchased a gun
not knowing the fate that's in place for this young male
trapped with no bright future, he looks to drug sales
scales purchased in the pursuit of a way out
hit the streets, dodging patrolling cops, no doubt
supplying fiend's demands, soon to make G'z
haters staying lo-key and behind the scenes.
they wait for the right time, until his cup is brim
rather kill him than see him live, eternaty with the grim
slim chance of making it alive, hurts to see
bullet hole peirced skin, he faces defeat
memories arise of his childhood, on this same street
life flashing by as his mind looses grip on reality
muscles tighten, his last breath floats away.
tell me, who is really promised another day?
