Another Lesson was Learned

He broke my heart
now its raining
try not to rub it in

You say 'I told you so'
you knew it long ago
You knew we had to go
I finally came around, back on solid ground
can't let this get me down

Yes I was burned but I'm calling it a lesson learned

My mistake was overturned, so its a lesson learned

My soul has returned so I'm calling it a lesson learned

Another lesson was learned

Falling down ain't falling down if you don't cry when you hit the floor
And it's called it past because I'm getting past and I ain't anything like I was before, you should see me now

Very good work. A poem that is well suited to being read aloud
with lots of nice simple thoughts that express universally recognised ideas
and a repeating chorus that can be recited with lots of passion. (Report) Reply

poet Rupert Brooke

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
