Anthony

  I met a man
when I had a broken heart.
He became my friend
when things were falling apart.
He didn't realize
he was helping me to breathe.
Now I'm not as broken,
it seems.
He felt like morphine
to my hurting soul.
and I'm beginning to realize,
he's making me whole.
He used to be
just a friend to me.
Now his face
is my joy to see.
He's my morphine,
my addiction,
my release inside
of stress,
my escape inside
a world of duress.
I don't go a minute
without his voice in my mind.
All my friends say
I'm beginning to shine.
The reason is him,
From God, I am blessed.
Because in the end,
God sent me the best.
