Anticipating Midnight



He rises up. Moving forth
His feet in flawless haste.
Surveying life's mythologies
In darkened portals of existence.

He stumbles into darkness unaware
Of pitfalls and shrapnel hidden
Behind nuances of camouflage
And deceit.
