Anything But Mine Reprise Poem by Jess Patterson

Walking along on klee mill drive
with hands held tight under a starry sky
feeling hearts beat in sync.
there's a wind of change coming in
you can feel it in the distance
twisting it's way to touch my heart.

In the morning your leaving
making your way through the cities
so tonight i hope ill be just fine
and i cant see
how you would ever be
anything but mine.

As were embracing I can feel your arms around me
touching your lips to mine I know that we're done
you tell me you love me and we both laugh
because i know it isn't true.
but as your driving away i break down
because i know that i did love you.

and in an hour your leaving
making your way through the cities
so now, Im trying to be just fine.
and i cant see how you could ever be
anything but mine.

Its been months and your still gone
i finally stopped hanging on.
And i know youve met someone new.
And while your smiling holding her tight
theres so much that i wish we didnt do.

And before you were leaving
and im alone in this city
and now i know i am fine.
and now i can see how youve left me
and im glad your anything but mine.
