Apology Poem by Joseph Anderson

Apology

Rating: 4.9

It's hard to say 'I'm sorry'
With your conscience on the run;
And it's hard to seek forgiveness
For some thoughtless deed you've done.

It's hard to say 'I thank you'
When a blessing is bestowed;
And it's hard to say 'I love you'
On life's rough and rocky road.

Life's trials and tribulations
Oft times sets our hearts in stone,
And that robs us of the feelings
That are needed to atone.

So, let me say 'I'm sorry'
If I've caused somebody pain,
And if I earn forgiveness,
That would be a special gain.

And say to life 'I thank you'
For the good things on the way;
To a dear one say 'I love you'
Today, and every day.

Love this poem Joseph - we are all guilty here, and the last two verses show us the way forward. A really great write.

This poem is going in my favorite poems list. It is so incredibly honest, The line that hit home for me: Life's trials and tribulations Oft times sets our hearts in stone, And that robs us of the feelings That are needed to atone. That line is so very true. Excellent write!
