Are You There? Poem by Emily Moore

Are You There?

Rating: 3.3

Cry for me, the shadows wish
The world forgets, they’re selfish
Hold my hand, I shiver with fear
Where are they, I want them near
‘They did no good to this young girl
Made her feel wanted then took her world’
A blissful place where she now lies
A home for children behind blue eyes
‘Santa’s coming, it’s Christmas soon’
‘You’d think I’d ask for the stars and moon
I ask for nothing but my family
They did no harm, to anyone, not me
I ask for my mommy and my dad
They’re special to me, they’re not bad
I’m guessing Santa you don’t hear
Because I asked for this last year
Please Santa if you do exist
Here this shadows wish.’
