Aria... Poem by Poppy Scarlett

Aria...

Rating: 5.0

Silken fingers flow into mine
tender hands caress my cheek
your mesmerising voice drifts across
my senses, as rain drops cling
to summer ripened fruit.
You are my nectar sent to
saturate my tastes; oh sweet ecstasy
should one person be so blessed.
Picture perfect are life’s moments
shared – together – we two.

Lift me higher that I should
be worthy of your love.
Resting, on the plateau of
perfection let me never
feel the earth beneath
my feet mere mortals
could not compete.
Your taste of ambrosial
perfume infuses my senses,
even when you are gone.
Linger, please, I beg,
stay an infinity longer.
Let this melody never end
my life’s aria played, for
all, eternity…
