Armadillo's Way Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Armadillo's Way

Rating: 5.0

Before I go to bed tonight
and lay my head on pillow
I'll kneel and pray with all my might
Lord, I want to be an Armadillo

You see they have this armor
that nothing can penetrate
It's really not a charmer
but I still must demonstrate

Like water rolling off a duck
harsh words wouldn't enter in
I'd feel safe without bad luck
and hide my fears within

Just like my children use to say
'bounces off me, and sticks to you'
I'd don an armadillo's ways
and bid all bad things 'Adieu'
