Army Boy Poem by Rachael LoudFingers

Army Boy

We lay in the grassy hills
and I face him as he smiles
I take heed to the evening, so still
Right here and now it's all worthwhile
Embracing the warmth of his body
For I relish in every moment spent
Knowing the time, it is limited
June 25 our days come to temporary end
Enjoying the summer, he chooses army instead
Anger, confusion can overbear at times
Yet realizing the goodness it is all for
Erase my concerns, that are difficult to ignore
I calm my ampled stress
hopeful he knows what is right
Looking up with him to the day at rest
Admiring the sublime beauty of the night
