Artificial Lives Poem by Nichole Marie

Artificial Lives

See a face sealed in a mask so ugly
Beauty hidden behind a shield of lies
So bitter whats become reality
The nature of the face-something to hide

Take in the beauty of the setting sun
Breathe the open air before the day is done
As pinks and purples dance before your eyes
Prepare for lights of gold against the sky

See the obstruction of a cold steel rail
Beauty hidden behind a man-made trail
It may be how we get from here to there
But the beauty's gone and no one seems to care

See the city where our trees used to be
The mall where people do their shopping sprees
Our forest so green became a library
Lost in greed, were destroying earths beauty
