As Different As Can Be Poem by Francis Duggan

As Different As Can Be

Rating: 5.0

We do look at life one might say differently
And on very few things we do seem to agree
The poets you see as great do not seem great to me
We are very different as different as can be.

In our political thinking we do seem miles apart
And the values that you do hold dear to your heart
Are the sort of values I could never embrace
Yet your sort of thinking does not seem out of place

In the twenty first century in the World of today
Where money is the most important thing as many do say
And where Nature is being abused for financial gain
Our differences in thinking between us remain.

We do look at life in a different way
And though as a person you are quite okay
From my past experiences I have come to know
That the bond of friendship between us cannot grow
