As I Drive Down This Long Winding Road Poem by Max D. Hornbogen

As I Drive Down This Long Winding Road

As I drive down this long winding road, I look out my window and stare into the open view.

There I think of nothing, but only the road ahead of me. Each day seems so calm, just like the stars from the night sky.

So my hands are on the wheel, just talking each turn carefully as I stare into the long road ahead of me.

Then again, I pull the windows down to feel the wind with my hand. It feels so nice and calm.

By then the wind had moved in another direction, maybe to meet another hand out of another window?

So it was almost nighttime, I had to pull in to park. Then I looked in the night sky, it was so beautiful and calm.

Soon when I wake up, I’ll be driving down this long road ahead of me.
