As I Gazed Poem by Mimie Durand

As I Gazed

As I gazed upon a seed
And pondered its unadorned feature
Imagined the beauty within it holds
Comparable to a mythical creature.

Placed the seed in a petri dish
Nourished with nature’s power
In time I placed it in a pot
Now it's a beautiful flower.

As days went by it began to wilt
Its beauty lost in time
But in the mass of crisp pedals
A seed survived its prime

As I gazed upon this seed
And pondered its unadorned feature
Imagined the beauty within it holds
Comparable to a mythical creature.
