As I Walk Away Taking Nothing Poem by RIC BASTASA

As I Walk Away Taking Nothing

Rating: 5.0

I SEE bodies
making love

in privacy
the postures
try to draw
the lines between
love everlasting
and lust
disintegrating
into shattered pieces
that no one
later bothers
to pick

i see Love walking
out of the room
passing through
a door that
closes
gently
upon itself without
a key

I see you still sleeping
so innocent
and divine like
an angel
bedded in the soft feathers
of your wings

as i walk away
taking nothing.
