As Long As I'm Around

nobody can hurt you
as long as I'm around
if they try to keep you down
I'll get you off the ground

don't let them tell you anything
that makes you hurt inside
but whether you give in or not
that is for you to decide

don't let them say those hurtful words
refuse to hear a sound
you'll always be protected
as long as I'm around

I'll fight for you
and all your dreams
your heart is the most beautiful thing
that I have ever seen

the day you came and stood beside me
my heaven was found
you never have to look for love
as long as I'm around

I love this poem because you can tell that a lot of thought and heart went into writing it. I'm sure Kate and Isaiah would feel very very very very very special when they read this poem. Hint, hint. (Report) Reply

poet Robert Browning

by Robert Browning

Take the cloak from his face, and at first
Let the corpse do its worst!

How he lies in his rights of a man!
Death has done all death can.
