As Long As We Both Shall Live Poem by Joyce Hemsley

As Long As We Both Shall Live

Whenever I am lonely
And feeling oh so blue,
I rest my head and close my eyes
And dream of only you.

Only you could cheer my day
With that kiss you had to give.
My life took on new meaning then
A reason just to live.

Your were so young and handsome,
How I admired your ways.
Such kindness, love and honesty
You brought to fun-filled days.

But alas, those days have gone
And a darker life I see -
Yearning and longing for the past
When you were in love with me.

It's never too late to start anew;
Come back, there's so much to give
Leave me never... smile my way
As long as we both shall live.
