As The Curtain Falls Poem by Justin Gildow

As The Curtain Falls

As the curtain falls
Let's share one more tearful moment
Let's share one last kiss
As we kiss
Everything's quiet
Where we are is frozen and silent
Even though there's people all around us

Our worlds are breaking apart
Our insides feel hollow
100 wine glasses are shattering
And our emotions are starting to glow
Flickering on and off with the beat of our hearts
We're holding on to our souls
For all we know
Because it just might be the only things we have left

Throw everything we love in a time capsule
So that the wondrous ones in the future could know and think about us
The time has come for us to move on
The time has come for us to become older
The time has come for us to remain strong
