all my life i have been ashamed
all my life i have been ashamed
ashamed of who i was
ashamed of what i was
of what i had done
what i had to do

that is why i tell you...
son
do not follow in my footsteps
it pains me to say it
it pains me so

but son you must never...
walk in my shadow
you must never want...
to accomplish what i want to

to want so
to do so
its all folly

my dreams where built
built on weak foundations
i lost sight of them in my sadness
i never found them until now

my dream was love
that should be your dream too
my son
just dont do it they way...
i got it

if you do then you will
you will pain
you will feel ashamed
like i am
like i will be to my grave
