This morning two cats just finished their breakfasts.
They sit and wait around because it's still dark outside.
Usually, I run in the morning
This morning I sit at the desk to edit my poems.
Noel sits and looks at me
Ashes enjoys watching the sky.
Thick snow covers everywhere outside
The moon is almost round, hanging low in the west.
Two cats are not running or playing
They sit quietly like they are in trance.

ASHES VÀ NOEL NGỒI YÊN LẶNG NHƯ THIỀN

Sáng nay mèo đã ăn rồi
Ngoài kia trời tối, mèo ngồi chờ đây.
Thường thì tôi chạy mỗi ngày
Sáng nay tôi lại ngồi bàn sửa thơ.
Noel ngồi đó nhìn tôi
Ashes thì lại ngắm trời ngoài kia.
Ngoài sân tuyết trắng phủ đầy
Vầng trăng lơ lửng, trăng gần, tròn vo.
Hai mèo chẳng dỡn chẳng chơi
Mèo ngồi yên lặng, mơ mơ như thiền.
