Asian Carps Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Asian Carps

Asian Carps

Once again the nonsense Media
Shouts and write; and this time
They talk of Asian Carps’, Invasion

Invasion is a word I know well
I was born at my home thanks
To the “Invasion”

I walked long in deserts and
Andes and observed invasion
And here, Anishinaabe speaks of
“Invasion”

Now of carps? Asians?
What a shame! ! !

Look at the Mennonites and Amish
Look at the farms around, no trees
And hear the claims: “Work in peace! ”
Are they not “Invasion”?

Tell me right in my eye, as you have:
“I am a Gringo, what I see is I; I,
And the rest is nothing, it is shit.”

Two mature Asian Grass Carp in Tommy Thompson Park
Both are male, grown large and take me to the roots:
“Mankind is most brute.”
