Ask The Mountains Poem by Mayur Kalbag

Ask The Mountains

Ask the mountains

Ask the mountains why they never sleep
I can hear them whisper through darkness deep
As the breaths keep oscillating between ice and fire
The mountains inhale without any desire

Floating fluently through tunnels of time
Poetry emanates from their slopes in abstract rhyme
Within them nature’s creations joyfully live
Ask the mountains why they never take but only give

Ask the mountains about that divine sage
We hear that he is beyond age
Revealed you have to him the secrets of death
Ask the mountains, when I will know the purpose of my breath

Ask the mountains do they ever die
They seem immortal like the forever sky
As they blossom through the unending earth
Ask them about the origins of their birth

Beyond this earth, through the endless space
Across planets, mountains live in joyful grace
Their inspired peaks, they touch the supreme sky
Just be with the mountains and they will take you to a new high
