go no further than Edward IV in 'Richard III':
he takes G for George
instead of Gloster
and sets in train great tragedy.
As for necromancy,
'Hamlet' is no good v it:
Claudius bent by his brother's head
and poured poison in his ear
just as his brother's ghost said.
