Obed dela Cruz (October 18,1995 / Marikina City)
Astronaut
I need to pack my things
I'm going to the moon
Yes, I will be flying
To a wonderland soon.
Even men of science
Sometimes need a short break,
To pause and recreate
Then find what love can make.
First, I need to admit
Earth has been a great place
But I want to see if
Roses can grow in space.
That's why I'll bring with me
A plant that blossoms red,
Telling the affection
Of words I want be said.
Then I'll sing from afar
A lover's serenade
Trusting the galaxy
Won't let its echo fade.
It is a sound, a cry
That brings a man to heights,
Cosmos where he could fly.
Oh now, it's been a while
Still, I can imagine
But tick-tocks say it's time
This affair to begin.
So I board the spacecraft,
I won't be left behind.
This time, I'll see to it
What I search I will find.
