At The Lakeside Poem by Marton Dezso

At The Lakeside

Rating: 2.8

At the lakeside we were so young
At the lakeside we were so proud
Holding each other and thought
Everything would fade but
Not ours.

We watched the sun
Falling fast like red skull of the beheaded
And the the ancient trees we headed to
Were full of whispers and cruel with kisses
Your body whispered
As I kissed you sister
And I lifted you like you were my daughter:
Unborn.
And you raised me as a mother raises only.
Unworn, young and proud
At the lakeside
We were lonely.

A tenderhearted poem about love and youth and loneliness. Your expression is most original, Marton and your images unusual and well worth a second reading. In particular I liked: '... and the ancient trees we headed to Were full of whispers and cruel with kisses'. There is an undercurrent of darkness in the poem which lingers. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
