Athena Poem by Solomon Ndichu

Athena

Harmony got on its heels
When Athena was born
Archele's heel of gods
The sun battled the moon
Until none could win
So the sun decided to steal
A smile from her when she was awake
When butterflies land on roses
And the moon gave up his light to watch her sleep
And bathed her in his glory of stars
The wind stretched his hand of draught
Just to feel her tender skin
The ocean tried to visit her in a swash
But always failed
But the earth was jealous
And not willing to share
So he hid her
Six feet under for himself! !
