Atlantis Can Be Found Just As He Said Poem by Colin Breck Boardman

Atlantis Can Be Found Just As He Said

Atlantis can be found just as he said,
As I sailed in the foolish ship he didn't take,
Though it was lost just the same as I had read,
As she my futile efforts did scupper and forsake.
It's true that my sad snivels I have saved
When my sonnets tried to pry the hidden truth
Of feelings which did lie beneath the waves,
Too much for some to take perhaps, forsooth.
Yet as I no longer warrant Agape,
And Eros too has flown the lovely nest,
For whom then shall I to the heavens pray
To find happiness while beating on my breast?
So then, wither did I find my elusive ruined prize?
(Why, deep within the wells of her come-hither eyes) .
