Attempts To Lace But Lesses Poem by Mayse Codiers

Attempts To Lace But Lesses

Its my opinion,
that in some cases
the world's legion
settles for less...
shrouded in 'change is rest'
it quests to make better best
but its moving, in essence
from a better place
to a bitter place
from the fireplace
into the furnace...
say,
hubby leaves saintly wifey in tha house,
to dawg on her with a Amy winehouse...
like Wanjala and Akinyi?
like the stripper and Kanye?
Cutie dumps her one and only
for moneyed someone's hubby...
World moved from lyrically rich Hip Hop to crunk blah
like we did, from Tree-Top to Quencher...
We got bored with 'real love' theme in Blues
evolved to 'Lay love' Rhythm en Blues...
They sacked the impressive coach Kimanzi
replaced with whack-record Antoine Hey...
On cars: we shun Japan, do Dubai
On Products: tunalenga Kenya, buy Shanghai...
Mummie buys kiddie, Fanta en Patcos
(s) he grows up, does Cigar en Vodos...
Grannies did unprocessed; they lived long
we went Kimbo en Jogoo: we die young...

The world in an attempt to lace, it lesses.
