Attendent Poem by Scott J. Shepard

Attendent

Shoved disgrace into the family,
deep into my soul.
Left empty he to him;
emotion that had grown.

A fortress round his heart.
A compartments closed doors.
It would be years first step,
Granted blind the guard would fall

A transformation from the smallest light,
waited long to make its guide.
Through gates lead to what was said,
a fight to get inside.
