Attention All Teenagers Poem by Danielle Mari Nidea

Attention All Teenagers

Rating: 5.0

What's up with all this drama?
How did it just appear?
The me of my persona
Wonders why it's here.

It was just like yesterday
When we were still kids.
Going on our merry way,
Silly things, we did.

It all just popped, don't know why,
Don't know how it started.
All this drama comes to fly,
Some hearts somehow parted.

Is this what maturity's like?
People hating each other?
From anger to hatred as deep as dikes,
Hatred for our brothers?

I troubleshoot the problem
To know where it all began.
The cause wasn't even gruesome,
So I don't understand.

Do we not know how to forgive?
Do we not know how to care?
Is this how real grown-ups live
Is this what they call fair?

I thought grown-ups knew better.
I thought they really did.
I'm running out of paper
And rather stay a kid.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this when one of my friends started ignoring my other friend, and we all knew what the cause was, but my friend kept being mad at her for something so shallow. They're friends again now.
