August Rain Poem by Francisca Darko

August Rain

Rating: 5.0

The heavens open
And the rain errupts
The sky has spoken
There's no way to interrupt

Diagonally they fall
All fast and thick
The ground demands more
So they wet and slick

The heat, it suffocates
The sun shines bright
So the coolness, we appreciate
Raining on us through the night

We'll flaunt our short shorts
With an umbrella in hand
And we will tan of course
And enjoy both as much as we can

I love the August rain
It's the perfect balance of weather
A coolness I can't explain
Until it's August and we are right under
