Australia & Poverty

When most of the poor
can't be blamed for their poverty,
Australia sacrifices more.

When the pension couldn't pay the mortgage
of families whose men
were killed or maimed at war,
for the housing needs of the poor,
Australia sacrificed more.

When most wages can't pay a mortgage
when housing prices soar
from greed or chance,
Australia will sacrifice more.
