Australia - The European Wasp Poem by Paul Warren

Australia - The European Wasp

The European Wasp

I was out gardening today
And on the front wall built to stay
Was the starting of a colony of European wasp
That was introduced to Australia at a cost

There was only a couple of small pods
Of a papery walls to incubate these sods
So I plastered it with insect spray
And when one came out I ran away

Finally I scraped it off the wall
And mashed it up in its final fall
As this is one of a number of creatures
Rabbits, cockroaches and European wasps that feature.
