I walk in the park and I hold my breath
We are always surrounded by life and death
Old old men playing bowls on the lawn

A very beautiful piece of poetry, deep thoughts and an important theme to dwell on. In DEATH one is supposed to see his microscopic shape before the macroscopic universe...Ironically enough, it's the small and tiny worms who become the kings and the queens to feast on our flesh after death...A great lesson to humans in order for them to wake up and adjust their priorities in life... Very interesting....u have brought out the picture of life and death seen in our surroundings every day, we soon neglect the dead and begin to admire the newly springing life.......a routine visible invisible all around us! (Report) Reply

Wow, that is a really good poem. I wrote one that was not on life and death but it was about walking through the park and seeing things in a new persepctive. Seeing all the small beautiful things in life. The poem is called Perspective. I really loved this read! (Report) Reply

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
