Awake Poem by John A. Hancock

Awake

Rating: 5.0

Awake, awake all trees young and old
Let the warmth of spring persuade thy
Sleeping leaves to unfold

Cleanse the thawing earth blustery wind
And April showers, for the Goddess Mother stirs
Freed from winter's icy power

The cloak of darkness trembles, finally it gives way
To the might of the eternal sun
Shining longer with each new day

Awake! awake! all things bright and green
Let us now rejoice whilst
Nature paints another scene
