Awakening Poem by Annette Lohan

Awakening

Rating: 3.5

You awake with the
alarm I do not hear. You
go to the kitchen.

I awake with your
smiling kiss and aroma
of warm ground coffee.

Senses nudged conscious;
aware that a dropp of thought
swells to an ocean.

I find this one simple and powerful. Still hoping I may one day learn to write something with such depths and great use of language, but I fear it is just not in me. Warmest regards, Eve
