Away I Did Fade Poem by James Comerford

Away I Did Fade

Rating: 4.5

Away i did fade

Through fields of dreams I strolled
untill darkness fell upon my soul.

The endless miles had forsaken me,
it was time to cry, time to sleep,
time to be reborn!

The light failed to appear
and the earth became shadowed and unmade.

Death came upon me and away i did fade

This is a real poem. This is the kind of poem people used to read regularly. It is too bad that either poets have stopped being creative or decided that such has no value. I find tremendous value in this. I may not even fully understand it on first reading, that is a negative. But, in this rare case, there is just enough clarity here to find it in relationship to life or dreams. Both, take you to the same place. That, is the key. GW62
