Àbíké Poem by Morakinyo Temiloluwa Bolarinwa

Àbíké

Àbíké mi owon, Eléyinjú egé, Adúmáadán, In the midst of beauty, you are one, Òkín àwon eye, olólà ijù, Ògìdán. Àbíké mi owon, I never thought I would feel like this, fusion of clarity and confusion, Àdán, indefinite worry but a cool calm peace. Àbíké mi owon, were I to be koowe or Àparò, I would sing, were I to be Fálétí or Fágúnwà, I would write, write of what you've done, and sing it to the world. Àbíké mi owon, Pañpé Ìfé múmi, I am captured by your beauty, my sun, Odò tí mo fojú rénà ti gbémi, Àbíké, jealousy for Olúweri. Àbíké mi owon, I am short of description in your very presence, Àbíké, Òjòjò yetuyetu, ears of a corn, Òjìá, tùràrí, yours are the best essence. Àbíké mi owon, Ojú kan làdá n ní, I will be truthful, Ewàtómi, Omówùmí, Ìféwolé, I offer my Love.
