Back-Road Barns Poem by Marilyn Lott

Back-Road Barns

Rating: 5.0

When I travel ‘cross the country
And I want to get a ‘country' flavor
I try to get off the beaten path
That way I do myself a favor

For that is where we see the way
Folks really and truly live
Life slows down and glides along
Yes, country has so much to give

This is where we see, my friend
Wonderful old-fashioned farms
And in the midst of the landscape
Are the charming country barns

At the same time we see animals
That we love so very much
The cows, horses and chickens
That add to that country touch

The barns can be so different too
Many styles and sizes as well
It depends on what the farmer needs
And with the barn you can tell

So next time you do some traveling
Get off the Interstate to see farms
For that is when you can observe
Those wonderful back-road barns!

Marilyn - Drive those backroads far from the interstates and revel in the variety you'll find! Nice work!
