Backwards On High Heels
With no fear of danger that might injure,
pirouetting through the air,
flying backwards and on high heels Ginger
used to dance with Fred Astaire.
I can’t dance like these reflected stars,
even forwards, led by you;
let me now attempt instead to parse
with verse our backwards pas de deux.
Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did, backwards and on high heels (Anon) .
