Balance Within Poem by kwane Lamb

Balance Within

Rating: 2.8

Our society has a balance
Which plays it's way through time
It really does not allow for peace of mind

The door to my sexuality,
Is it just a formality?
Naw! ...a reality.

I've fought long and hard
Playing man: What a part,
But you black woman are my heart.

Man is what I am.

You are strong,
To you equilibrium belongs.

No matter what is said in the world
I know you are my girl.
Respecting you now
Gives me energy.

Pressure of this world
No longer rides my back
My kindness,
Not like the days of olden.

Reflects me being more sensitive
No matter how I am told then.
I have said to God,

My respect for your gift (woman)
Will never be sold.
Woman your understanding of me

Has really set me free.
I no longer think...
I know!

You are that reflection
Which burns my heart so.
